Firetoss successfully held their first annual benefit gala on November 17th, 2016. This being the first of many benefits to come, was aimed at raising money for the non-profit organization, Salt Lake City Arts Council’s 2017 Living Traditions Festival. As a company, Firetoss believes that we must support non-profit organizations because they make a positive change in every community, and Living Traditions Festival is the perfect place to begin this journey.

“We love whenever we have the opportunity to work with the Salt Lake Arts Council, whether it be the Twilight Concert Series, or the Living Traditions Festival, and their mission of promoting artists, arts organizations and art activities to the city of Salt Lake is something I admire. We wanted to give back to an organization that is always giving to our community. Our choice to highlight the Living Traditions Festival in particular, is one that is close to Firetoss due to the education and celebration of the many different cultures and ethnicities here in Salt Lake City.”

– Tony Passey, Firetoss CEO

When you walked into Firetoss on November 17, 2016, you got an old-fashioned vibe that carried the pizzazz of Frank Sinatra. With seven different gaming tables, exquisite hor d’oeurves, a live jazz band, and of course, an open beer and wine bar, you knew that you had to tell the babysitter you’ll be a little late.

Throughout the evening, all donations were converted into points that can be used to play games or to be exchanged into raffle tickets. There was a large variety of games including blackjack, craps, texas hold’em and more. Guests could also purchase more points or raffle tickets throughout the evening in hopes of winning one of many well sought-out prizes. Thanks to Firetoss’ sponsors, the variety of prizes ranged from domestic flights from JetBlue, Utah Jazz tickets, iPads, and many more.

The evening was a success to say the least. Firetoss raised over $3,500, with over 250 guests in attendance. Many thanks goes out to the generous sponsors, the guests who donated, and the hard-working employees. None of this could’ve happened without you. Special thanks also goes out to Casino Parties of Utah and Cuisine Unlimited for their help in making the event a success.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Craft and Hobby Association’s 75th Anniversary Mega Show in Anaheim, California. Below is the slide deck for the talk I gave. What a tremendous group of people and a wonderful chance to meet bloggers, publishers and influencers in an exciting industry. Thank you for the opportunity and for the many new friendships.

–Tony

In this slide presentation, Tony Passey, CEO of Firetoss, discusses predictions for digital marketing in 2016. He talks about potential enhancements in Google’s search algorithm that would account for mobile indexing of in-app content and the need for addressing un chartered territory in smartphones. Additionally, the use of adblockers has increased dramatically and content publishers are feeling the effects of lower ad revenue for content centered websites. Changes such as pay-walls for content or increased cost to display ads may ensue as publisher try to replace revenue for their content assets.

This talk was given in a workshop session at the CHA Megashow in Anaheim, CA on Jan 10, 2016.

NAB 2015 was 100K video professionals looking over 1MM sq/ft of the latest tech in film and video.  Firetoss made it’s appearance at the New Media Expo (NMX) inside the north hall of the NAB show.  We were joined by WordPress, Sucuri, AppPresser and a number of podcast specific technologies.

Here are a few of the highlights from the show and a gallery of photos of the show.  Also below are a couple shots of our booth at NAB/NMX 2015.

GoPro made an amazing showing at the show.  They had their custom raptor that was sitting on tracks on all four.  It had a ridiculous number of cameras (of course) and was customized in every imaginable way.

The Nikon booth had nearly every Nikkor lens on display.  There was a lot of talk about the new Nikon D810.  Do you have it yet Evan?  I didn’t think so.

Some of the best parts of the show were the independent innovators.  These two photos are of a new flexible rubber camera rails system coming to kickstarter soon (left) and a new go pro mounting system rigged up on this cb550 (right)

Firetoss’s booth was a 10×10 corner in the NMX area of NAB.  We sat across the aisle from WordPress and listened with love as they explained to the general public why their mouse was not working at home had nothing to do with wordpress.com.  It was interesting and yet unfortunate.  Good show all in all.

Late in March of 2015 Firetoss participated in the Mid-America Truck Show in Louisville, KY.  The Mid-America Truck Show is one of the largest trucking shows in the country, with over 1100 exhibitors and an estimated 70,000 attendees.  Business Development and Marketing Strategists Toby Eborn and Taylor Sanford had the opportunity to visit with many companies to help offer solutions to the driver recruiting problem that exists in the industry.

The process for finding a new job has evolved as technology has become more readily available through the use of mobile devices.  Your digital strategy should include an attractive mobile friendly website, relevant information that will help the potential applicant understand who you are and why they would want to work for you, as well as a strategy to get your site in front of the user through organic, paid and social media channels.

If you are interested in finding out more about how to polish your online presence to help you recruit the highest quality drivers in the market, please feel free to reach out to us.
